Forget the Wires, Wyze Found a New Way to Power Your Cam V3

The Wyze Cam V3 plugged into a Wyze Lamp Socket.
Wyze

Why isn’t there a battery-powered Wyze Cam V3? I’m not sure, but the new Wyze Lamp Socket lets you power the Cam V3 from any outdoor lighting fixture, and it only costs $10 plus shipping. And for those of you with a Wyze Cam Outdoor, there’s a new Solar Panel that extends its battery life so you can spend less time charging and more time catching porch pirates.

While we haven’t had a chance to test it, the Wyze Lamp Socket looks like an ingenious idea. It screws into the base of any outdoor lighting fixture, providing a constant flow of power to your Cam V3. And crazy enough, the Lamp Socket adds smart lighting features (voice controls, schedules, etc) to whatever outdoor light it’s paired with.

And then there’s the new Wyze Solar Panel. It extends the battery life of your Wyze Cam Outdoor, though Wyze doesn’t specify how much extra battery life you can expect to get with this accessory. At $20 plus shipping, it seems like a good option for people who want their Wyze Cam Outdoor to keep working during an extended vacation.

You can now order the Wyze Lamp Socket and Wyze Solar Panel at the Wyze website. If you don’t already own a Cam V3, I suggest buying the Lamp Socket + Cam V3 bundle, which costs $7 less than buying each product separately.
