The age of boring black and gray computer accessories is coming to an end. At least, that’s how I feel when I look at Logitech’s latest gadgets, the colorful POP Keys and POP Mouse. These typewriter-inspired accessories come in tons of cute colors and even feature dedicated buttons to call up your favorite emoji.
To our surprise, the POP Keys and POP Mouse are both very compelling products. Logitech is using Cherry MX Brown-style keys in the new keyboard, which is fully wireless and features a three-year battery life (AA batteries). It has a column of five emoji keys with swappable keycaps (you can program these to do non-emoji things), plus function keys to mute your mic or control audio.
The POP Mouse isn’t exactly ergonomic, and unfortunately, it doesn’t have forward and back buttons. But it’s incredibly portable, has a two-year battery life (AAA batteries), and a dual-mode scroll wheel for fast or precise scrolling. There’s also a button behind the scroll wheel that brings up your emoji menu, though you can program this button to fulfill other tasks.
Naturally, Logitech stuck its famous FLOW software in the POP Keys and POP Mouse, allowing you to move documents and copy-paste items between two computers as if they’re a single machine. And yes, both products can save three Bluetooth connections so you can quickly toggle between three devices without going through a pairing process.
Logitech is clearly giving its take on the cutesy, retro-ish computer accessories are currently popular on TikTok. And it’s good to see Logitech enter this space with a truly compelling product—up until now, TikTokers got their cute keyboard fix from unreliable no-name brands on AliExpress.
The Logitech POP keyboard and mouse launch later this month for $100 and $40, respectively. Logitech says it will also launch a set of spill-resistant Studio desk mats alongside its POP accessories, and at just $20, they look like a genuine steal.
