To kick off 2022, the popular retro arcade cabinet maker Arcade1Up has announced a slew of new machines that will surely excite fans. This week at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Arcade1Up revealed an all-new Pro Series line with bigger full-size retro arcade machines perfect for your game room and much more.
We’re big fans of Arcade1Up, from its classic Terminator 2 machine, Ms. Pac-Man, and more, allowing people to enjoy their favorite arcade games right from home. However, now the company is making bigger true-to-size arcade machines fitting for 2022 with larger 19-inch screens, improved joysticks, more durable buttons, and better construction. Additionally, Arcade1Up announced three more Legacy games for fans. Here’s what you need to know.
Arcade1Up Pro Series Killer Instinct
The first at-home arcade game in the new Pro Series is the classic Killer Instinct. And while the company already offers this popular hack-n-slash game from Rare and Microsoft, getting a Pro Series cabinet will kick things up a notch with artwork, sound, and visuals.
Each “Pro Series” machine has a larger 19-inch screen, upgraded Suzohapp buttons and joysticks, faux metal t-molding, upgraded speakers, new speaker grills, and a matching riser. Then, just like recent upgrades to the Legacy line, each Pro Series arcade cabinet supports Wi-Fi for online remote play, leaderboards, and over-the-air updates.
The new Arcade1Up Pro Series Killer Instinct will be available this summer, with several more Pro Series machines coming later this year. The company didn’t mention a price, but it surely won’t be cheap.
Three New Arcade1Up Legacy Machines
Then, to celebrate nearly three million arcade cabinets sold, Arcade1Up announced three more cabinets that will be available in the first half of 2022. For those unaware, the Arcade1Up Legacy series is one of the best-selling lines and is about to get even better. Each Legacy cabinet released in 2022 comes with 14 classic games pre-installed starting this year.
-
BANDAI Legacy PAC-MANIA Edition
-
MIDWAY Legacy Mortal Kombat 30th Edition
-
ATARI Legacy Centipede Edition
Fans will get new and improved 14-game Arcade 1Up Legacy Series cabinets in the three brands listed above. First up is PAC-MANIA, a fan favorite and something everyone can appreciate. And for the first time in a PANDAI machine, this one will have Wi-Fi for online and remote live play, leaderboards, and more.
We’re also excited to see the original artwork and classic Centipede making a return. Retro game fans have been dying for Arcade1Up to make this, and now they have. The Legacy Centipede will come with original artwork, style, and the same form factor as the original arcade we all played as kids.
And last but certainly not least, Arcade1Up is building another Mortal Kombat retro arcade cabinet, because why not. To celebrate over three decades of wicked fight moves, brutal head kicks, and fatalities, the company will create a 30th edition Legacy cabinet for everyone’s favorite fighting game.
Arcade1Up confirmed that all three Legacy Series cabinets mentioned above would be available later this spring but didn’t share pricing information. For those wondering, Legacy cabinets typically cost around $449 or more, but we’ll have to wait and see.
