Roku Just Added an Important New Category to Your Smart TV Home Screen

The new "Live TV Zone" on the Roku home screen.
Roku

The live TV experience just got even better on Roku devices thanks to a new Live TV Zone. Available now on your Roku home screen, the Live TV Zone gives you instant access to Roku’s Channel Guide, your recently-watched live TV channels, and of course, all your favorite live TV services.

Roku has slowly grown into one of the best platforms for streaming live TV. Its Roku Channel app regularly adds new free channels, and of course, the Roku Channel Guide lists content across all of your live TV services, including OTA TV.

I have just one complaint here—I wish Roku’s Live TV Channel Guide had a dedicated tab on the Roku home screen. That’s how the Chromecast with Google TV’s “Live” tab works, and I think it would make finding live TV channels even faster on Roku. (Especially since Roku’s Channel Guide supports more streaming services than Google TV’s Channel Guide.)

To access the Live TV zone, simply navigate to the Live TV tab on the left side of your Roku home screen. The Roku Channel Guide should appear alongside recently-watched content and services like Hulu with Live TV, Sling, Pluto TV, and YouTube TV.
