If you've joined the Wordle craze, you may be wondering why the game is only available on the web. Pinning Wordle to your Android home screen is easy. You just need the Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox mobile web browser. These apps are available on Google Play, though Chrome comes installed on most Android phones and tablets by default. (Other browsers may work, though we've only tested these three.)

Here's how to add Wordle to your Android home screen:

  1. Open Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on your Android smartphone or tablet.
  2. Go to the Wordle web page.
  3. Tap the Menu button (the three dots at the top or bottom of your screen).
  4. Select "Add to Home Screen."
  5. You can now rename your Wordle web app, if you want.
  6. Tap "Add" to complete the process.

The Wordle web app should appear on your home screen. You can place this app in folders or move it around, but if you remove it from your home screen, you'll have to go through this process again.

If you wake up one morning and the Wordle web app doesn't load a new game, simply close all your apps and try again. You won't lose your Wordle stats after closing the game.

Here's how to add Wordle to your iPhone or iPad home screen:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and visit the Wordle website.
  2. Tap the Share button (the rectangle with an arrow pointing out of its top). This button appears at the bottom of your iPhone screen or the top of your iPad screen.
  3. Select "Add to Home Screen" from the Share drop-down menu.
  4. You can now rename your Wordle web app, if you wish.
  5. Tap "Add" to complete the process.

Congrats! You now have a Wordle web app on your iPhone or iPad home screen. You can move this web app around or place it in folders like any other app, but if you remove it from your home screen, it will disappear from your device.

One last note---if the Wordle web app doesn't load a new game, it may need to be reset. Simply close the web app and open it again. This process won't affect your daily stats or scores.
