Google Leaks the Next Pixel Phone in a Coloring Book

Every year, phone manufacturers leak their upcoming products through accidental webstore listings, misfired social media posts, and other goofs. But we’re now ready to crown Google as the king of accidental leaks because the company just confirmed its upcoming Pixel 6a in a freakin’ coloring book.

Members of Google’s Pixel Superfan group get some neat goodies in the mail every few months, including socks and free Nest products. But this week, Superfans were sent a cute Google coloring book, likely to coincide with the launch of Colors with Google, a digital coloring book that you can use in the browser.

All of the products in this coloring book (the paper one) are listed on the last page’s “featured products” index. And when you check which products are featured on pages six and seven, the book lists “Nest Thermostat and Pixel 6a.”

Unfortunately, this appears to be an error. The Pixel 6a is not featured in Google’s coloring book—in fact, pages six and seven contain a Nest Hub and Nest speaker, not a thermostat or phone.

Leaks indicate that the Pixel 6a will launch this May alongside Google’s first Pixel Watch. We expect the phone to look similar to Google’s Pixel 6 and feature a Tensor chip.
