An electric razor is one of the most popular ways to remove body hair. It’s not a perfect method (none of them are) but with the right razor, you’ll be happy with the results. Here’s our pick of the best women’s electric razors out there.

Everyone’s needs and skin are different. We’ve checked out razors focused on helping those with sensitive skin, as well as for those times when you need to trim facial hair carefully. No electric razor can provide as close a shave as a manual razor, depilatory cream, or wax solution but it’s one of the safest methods. You don’t have to worry about cuts or burns through inappropriate use. Many also work just as well when dry shaving as wet shaving so there’s no messiness to contend with either.

Whatever your needs, we’ve got you covered with the best women’s electric razors out there.

Best Overall: Panasonic Cordless All-In-One Advanced Wet & Dry Electric Shaver ($50)

Panasonic

The Panasonic Cordless All-In-One Advanced Wet & Dry Electric Shaver is good for every situation in life. It’s fully immersible so you can take it in the bath with you as well as the shower, and you can always opt to use it completely dry with minimal issues for your skin.

Its rechargeable battery takes about an hour to charge but when you’re in a rush, you can simply charge it up for 5 minutes and it’ll be good to go for one shave.

The razor uses four, ultra-sharp blades for as close a cut as you’re going to achieve with an electric device, with hypo-allergenic foils that are gentle on sensitive skin. The design of the shaver means it’s ideal for tackling your legs, underarm, or bikini areas without contorting at awkward angles.

Best Value: Panasonic Electric Shaver ($15)

If you’re on a tight budget, the Panasonic Electric Shaver will still serve you well. This time around there are only three blades but it will still serve you well in most cases. That’s thanks to its flexible heads which do a decent job of shaving your legs, arms, and bikini areas reasonably closely. There’s a pop-up trimmer too which is good for when you just need to maintain a few key areas of your body.

Don’t expect to fully immerse this one in water, but you can still use it in the shower without a problem. The rechargeable battery is slower too, taking 12 hours to charge fully, but it’ll last as long as the more expensive Panasonic with 20 minutes of use.

In an ideal world, we’d still recommend the more expensive Panasonic, but if you need to spend wisely, this one should still get the job done.

Best For Sensitive Skin: Remington Smooth & Silk Electric Shaver ($40)

If you have sensitive skin, hair removal gets trickier. Chemical creams are no good as they’re liable to cause skin irritation. Similarly, epilation can be too painful and involve even more aftercare than for someone with regular skin. The Remington Smooth & Silk Electric Shaver is a good option here. It’s a 4 blade shaver with hypoallergenic foils to provide you with a close yet gentle shave. A dual-sided trimmer makes things easier still, as you can prepare longer hairs through it before moving onto the full shave.

Alongside that is a special strip that moistures your skin with almond oil straight after you shave. It’s a potent mix that means your skin has the best chance of avoiding irritation. Besides that, its shaver head is flexible and more than capable of contending with any part of your body.

Best For Facial Hair Removal: Panasonic Facial Hair Trimmer For Women ($16)

Panasonic Facial Hair Trimmer For Women

Facial hair removal is a necessary evil and it really requires a specialist tool to do correctly. Yet again, Panasonic has you covered. Its Facial Hair Trimmer has a smooth pivoting head that easily follows the natural contours of your face so you can closely trim unwanted hair on your face, chin, and neck. It has a round-tipped hypoallergenic blade so it won’t irritate your skin while it does it.

It’s a device that works equally well for trimming unwanted chin hairs as well as more precise tasks such as eyebrows, thanks to its included eyebrow trimmer attachments. You can use its snap-on eyebrow shaper comb attachments to get things just how you want them to look. Throughout, the sleek wand design means it feels comfortable in your hand and is easy to toss into your bag for when you need to trim an errant hair while on the move. It’s powered by one AA-size battery with an operating time of roughly 8 shaves.

Best Combo Shaver/Epilator: Braun Silk-epil 5 ($63)

We’ve already covered epilators in-depth and they’re great. They’re also painful at times and not always something you really want to do unless you absolutely have to. For when you want the option of epilating or shaving all in one device, you can’t go wrong with the Braun Silk-epil 5.

As an epilator, it has 40 close-grip tweezers that can remove even the shortest of hairs for up to 4 weeks. As anyone who’s used one will know, you’ll suffer a bit to get the desired results. Instead, you can also use its shaver head and trimmer cap for a slightly less close but far less painful result. Whichever option you pursue, its flexible head stays close to your skin at all times. It’s the best of both worlds. Just bear in mind that it’s a corded device so you need to stay close to a power outlet (and definitely don’t go near water).
