Elon Musk Is Sleeping at the Tesla Factory to Personally Oversee Your New Car

If you’re in the market for a Tesla Model 3–the most affordable Tesla model around–you can rest easier than Elon Musk is. He’s apparently personally overseeing production of the vehicles as they roll of the line.

Despite being really nice electric cars, Teslas are generally rare because they’re so expensive. The Model 3, starting at a still-high $35,000, is by far the cheapest, easiest way to get in a Tesla. Naturally, there’s high demand for the vehicles. So much demand that the company can’t seem to keep up making them.

According to an email obtained by Jalopnik, the company has only been able to make 2,000 Model 3s per week, which is below the 2,500 per week the company was hoping to make. This won’t do. So, Elon Musk is stepping in to oversee production. Even going so far, as he explains in a tweet, as to start sleeping at the factory.

He’s nothing if not devoted to the job. It’s unclear how much having the boss sleeping at your place of work will help motivate the workers at the factory, but if you get a Model 3 in the near future, you can at least know that Musk was at least semi-personally involved in its production.
