The Google Assistant is handy for setting up home automation and setting reminders for yourself. The search giant has been working on implementing a feature for taking down notes, but it has been a long time coming. Fortunately, starting today, the Google Assistant can now create notes and lists in Google Keep, Any.do, AnyList, and Bring!

Once the feature is live, you can set up the new feature within the Google Assistant Settings found in the Google Home app for Android, iPhone, and iPad. Navigate to the “Notes and Lists” section in the “Services” tab and then choose your preferred note-taking app.

Google provided the following commands as examples of what the Assistant is now capable of when taking notes and managing lists:

  • “Create a holiday gift list.”
  • “Add Stadia for Jake to my holiday gift list.”
  • “Add cranberries to my grocery list.”
  • “Take a note.”
  • “Show me my notes.”

The Google Assistant’s new note-taking feature is rolling out now and should be available to most in the coming day and weeks. Google states that the virtual assistant on both smartphones and smart speakers will be able to create and manage your notes and lists while smart displays like the Nest Hub will only be able to handle lists.
