NVIDIA Just Lopped $50 off the RTX 2060—Get It Now for $299

Nvidia

With a $350 price tag, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 was the cheapest graphics card capable of ray tracing. Because of that low price tag, however, this card was hard to find (without price inflation) after it was announced. But today brings some good news: you can now get the RTX 2060 Founders Edition for $299. It’s even cheaper!

The price drop could be NVIDIA’s response to the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 5600XT, which will sell for $279. Announced during CES 2020, the Radeon RX 5600XT promises to be the best graphics card for 1080p gaming. It also promises to slot between the GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060 in terms of performance.

As previously mentioned, the RTX 2060 Founders Edition supports real-time ray tracing in games. In short, ray tracing makes lighting in video games more realistic by calculating how virtual light sources affect items in an environment. Available and unreleased triple-A games with ray tracing support include Battlefield V, Control, Cyberpunk 2077, and Doom Eternal.

Other RTX 2060 Founders Edition features include dual-axial 13-blade fans, 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory, a memory speed of 14 Gbps, and a six-phase power supply for overclocking. Overall, the card is capable of strong 1080p and 1440p gaming.
