Vizio SmartCast TVs are Getting Native Disney+ Integration Today

If you own a Vizio TV from 2016 or after and subscribe to Disney+, we have good news for you. Until now, if you wanted to watch Disney+ on your TV, you had to stream it through Apple AirPlay 2 or Chromecast. Workable, but clunky. But starting today, Vizio is rolling out Disney+ to SmartCast home screens.

Adding Disney+ to the SmartCast home screen alleviates some of the pain points to watching the service. Previously, you needed another device (like Apple TV or an Android device) to cast Disney+ to your Vizio tv. But now you can open it directly from the home screen.

Vizio tells us that its Disney+ integration supports 4K UHD and HDR video playback, so long as your TV has those features, so you’ll be able to watch The Mandalorian and Thor: Ragnorak and enjoy all the spectacular highlights and dusty roads.

The company says the update is rolling out now to Vizio TVs with SmartCast support made in 2016 and after. Disney+ is available to Vizio owners in United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and you can find and subscribe to it can be found in the apps row on SmartCast Home or through the SmartCast Mobile app (for iOS and Android).
