The Stadia Free tier isn’t here yet. But some lucky Chromecast Ultra are receiving 3-month Stadia Pro trial codes through Chromecast marketing emails. This promotion is similar to the Buddy Pass, a 3-month trial that comes with the Stadia Founders Edition.
Evidently, Google is trying its best to boost the Stadia game streaming service and compete with NVIDIA GeForce Now. Both services have been under scrutiny for their small libraries and unpolished performance, but GeForce Now’s sudden loss of its Activision Blizzard and 2K games has opened a window for Staida to steal the show.

Once your 3-month Staida Pro trial ends, you’ll have to pay $10 a month to continue the service. Although it’s possible that Stadia Free will be available by then (but we wouldn’t place any bets).
If you own a Chromecast Ultra and haven’t received this promotion, simply visit the Chromecast apps page, scroll to the bottom, and press the Sign Up button for news and offers from Google Store. Or, go anywhere on the Google Store, click on your profile bubble, and open settings. Then, go to email preferences and activate News and Updates and Personalized Emails.
