Google Podcasts Comes to iOS

The home, explore, and activity pages of the Google Podcasts app.

Recently, Google overhauled its Android Google Podcasts app, but the company had more in mind. Now, to complement that Android overhaul, Google released its app on iOS. The two apps mirror each other almost perfectly, which is excellent if you like to keep your podcasts in sync across multiple devices.

If you already use Google Podcasts on Android (or the web), then you should already know what to expect. You’ll get the familiar Home, Explore, and Activity screens that were part of the app’s recent overhaul.

Home gives you quick access to your subscribed shows while Explore will help you find new things to enjoy. Activity, unsurprisingly, shows your recent activity—the podcasts you’ve listened to, what’s in your list for future listening, and what podcasts you’ve downloaded locally.

The iOS app is available starting today, and if you don’t see the updated Android version, Google promises to finish rolling it out over the next week. It’s an app meant for iPhone, but you could install it on an iPad too if you really want.
