We think Nest Hub displays are excellent. They’re perfect for controlling your smart home devices, finding recipes, and displaying your photos. And the Nest Hub Max is all that in a bigger, better package. But as much as we love it, it’s still a little expensive. But Home Depot is offering $50 off the device today, bringing the price down to $179.
It’s not uncommon to see sales on the Nest Hub Max. But this is the lowest price we’ve seen yet. Best Buy and Google are currently selling the smart display for $199, for instance. At $179, we think the price is finally right.
That may seem like a lot, especially compared to the standard Nest Hub’s average price of around $130. But the Nest Hub Max is more than just a large display (albeit a much bigger screen). It also has a useful camera built into the device.
It uses the camera to recognize you and pull up your calendar and preferences. As you approach the display, it will automatically wake up and proactively start working. What it does even depends on the time of day.
The standard Nest Hub recently started doing a similar thing, but it detects your presence by listening for noise to suggest a person is near. It’s impressively accurate, but the Nest Hub Max’s camera works even better.
We don’t know how long Home Depot is offering the Nest Hub Max on sale, so if you’re interested, you should jump on it now. And if $179 is still too much, you could always consider the smaller Nest Hub instead.
