One of the best things about OnePlus phones is the incredibly low price. You get 80% of the features of a $1,000 flagship for nearly half the cost. But what’s better than a good quality yet cheap smartphone? The same smartphone, but even cheaper. T-Mobile will sell you the OnePlus 8 for half off starting April 28th, when you activate a new line or trade-in a phone.
Don’t jump in too soon; the deal starts on April 28th at 9 PM Pacific Time (that’s April 29th at Midnight in Easter Time). To lead up to the deal, the Un-carrier is hosting an unboxing event YouTuber JerryRigEverything. And T-Mobile will hand out free OnePlus 8 phones through its app tomorrow as part of its T-Mobile Tuesdays promotions.
To take advantage of the half-off offer, you’ll need to either start a new line of service with T-Mobile (either new service with the carrier, or add-a-line to your existing service) or trade-in an eligible device. And naturally, you’ll need to sign a two-year contract.
The reduced price comes in the form of reduced credits, and if you cancel your line before the two-year contract expires, you’re on the hook for the full price of the phone. But if you plan to stay with T-Mobile for two years anyway, it’s a good deal on a decent phone.
Be sure to check back for our full review, coming soon, for thoughts on the phone.
