Amazon’s Prime Day (and a Half) Starts Today, These Are the Best Deals We Found

Amazon’s nebulous Prime Day starts at 3PM Eastern today, and with it comes a host of deals. Here are the best ones we found, and how to get the most out of them.

If you’ve never shopped Prime Day before, here’s the basic gist: For 36 hours, starting at 3PM Eastern on Monday July 16th, and ending at 3AM Eastern on Wednesday July 18th. You’ll need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the deals. If you’re not already, though, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial (just be sure to cancel if you don’t still want it afterwards).

Some Prime Day deals are only for a short time, while others will last the entire 36 hours. When you see a deal you’re interested in, you might need to act fast. In the case of Gold Box Deals of the Day, and especially Lightning Deals, there may be limited quantity, as well. In general, we don’t advise falling for the “Get it now or it could be gone!” pressure that tries to manipulate you into impulse purchases, but in the case of Prime Day, it’s usually true. If you sleep on some deals, they may be gone when you come back in a few hours. Plan accordingly.

With that in mind, there are a ton of deals on Amazon’s site right now, but here are some of the ones we’ve found that are worth your time. Some deals are even available early, so you can get started before 3PM.

Amazon’s Best Gadgets

Amazon makes a bunch of its own gadgets, and arguably the best Prime Day deals are for Amazon’s own products. With that in mind, here are some of our favorites.

Alexa-Powered Devices

Kindles and Tablets

Fire TV

Smart Home

Prime Services and Freebies

The Best Deals From Everyone Else

These deals haven’t gone live yet, but have been announced early. Once Prime Day gets underway, look for these discounts to drop.

Accessories

Audio

Gaming

Kitchen Gear

Smartphones and Laptops

We’ll be updating this post periodically through the day (and a half) as we find Prime Day deals worth your attention. If you don’t find anything that catches your eye now, check back later and there will be even more to shop from.
