Samsung just announced its new Galaxy Buds 2, the company’s smallest and lightest pair of wireless earbuds to date. With a design and feature-set that are heavily inspired by the Galaxy Buds Pro, we’re happy to say that there’s no beans in Samsung’s latest buds. Oh, and at $150, they cost less than AirPods Pro!
Note: Samsung announced several new products at its Unpacked event, including the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy Watch 4. Check out our buying guide to save hundreds on your pre-order.
Like the Galaxy Buds Pro, the new Galaxy Buds 2 feature a compact design with support for ANC and and three adjustable Ambient Sound levels (so you can hear your surroundings). They also feature a similar dual-driver setup for punchy, clear sound, plus wireless charging and an IPX7 water-resistance rating.
But the Galaxy Buds 2 aren’t just a Buds Pro clone. They’re the lightest Samsung wireless earbuds to date, and feature a new AI technology to automatically improve microphone quality during calls. Plus, with Bluetooth 5.2 support, the new Buds 2 should prove more reliable than the old Buds Pro (which use Bluetooth 5.0).

Considering its $150 price tag, the Galaxy Buds 2 look like a solid alternative to other products in its price range, like the Beats Studio Buds. There’s just one oddity here—Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro are still on sale and regularly drop to $170. With all the similarities between the Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds Pro, we can’t help but wonder if customers will get confused.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 are now available for pre-order. The $150 earbuds come in Graphite, White, Olive, and Lavender colorways, plus a limited-edition Thom Browne pinstripe design.
