One of HP’s best high-end Chromebooks is about to get even better. Of course, we’re talking about the HP Chromebook C1030, which will reportedly get an upgrade to Intel’s upcoming 12th-Gen Alder Lake processors in 2022.
With a premium aluminum frame, slim design, and excellent display, the C1030 is one of the better Chromebooks you can buy that isn’t a Pixel. Originally, it came out as an enterprise device but later rebranded as a consumer-friendly Chromebook X360 13c.
And while many Chromebook users are eagerly awaiting more Intel 11th-Gen Tiger Lake machines, ChromeUnboxed recently uncovered that HP is jumping right to the latest 12-Gen processors. Yes, the current Core i5/i7 Intel Comet Lake processors it uses today are fine, but buyers might as well wait for this new generation to arrive considering the price.
After digging through the Chromium Repositories, ChromeUnboxed found code submissions that all-but-confirm the HP Chromebook C1030 for 2022 will be nearly identical to the previous iteration, only much better thanks to Tiger Lake. From what they gather, nothing else about the overall design or device will change. That’s ok, too, as it’s one of HP’s best Chromebooks.
We don’t have too much other information at this point aside from the fact that it looks like HP will be refreshing its excellent C1030 with 12-Gen chips sometime in 2022.
