Anker teased a Nebula 4K streaming dongle back in May, and now it’s finally here (albeit with little fanfare on Anker’s part). It gives you yet another option for streaming content and, while it’s a bit on the pricey side at $89.99, its included remote control might make it worthwhile.
The Nebula 4K Streaming Dongle with HDR is powered by Android TV and offers you more than 7,000 entertainment apps to choose from, including Disney+, Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video. The dongle lacks a built-in cable but sports both an HDMI port for display output and a micro-USB port for power. The cables are included with the dongle, along with a power brick and AAA batteries, so it’s ready to plug and play out the box.
The Nebula 4K supports HDMI 2.1 output, HDR10, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and 4K along with Dolby Digital Plus audio. It boasts 8GB of storage, so you’ll have plenty of room to download all of your favorite apps, and it also has 2GB of RAM and an ARM Quad 64-bit Cortex-A53 up to 2GHz (DVFS) processor.
The big-ticket item, here, though is the included remote. It features dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and Disney+, so you can quickly access those channels without having to navigate the device’s user interface. Aside from all the standard navigation and volume buttons, it also has a settings button, a Watchlist button, a guide button (to open Live TV EPG), and an input button that you can (presumably) map.
And of course, there’s the Google Assistant button at the top center. This will let you use “Ok, Google” voice commands to find the more than 400,000 movies and TV episodes the device has to offer. And it’s also compatible with Chromecast, so you can play content on it from any Android device. Ready to grab one for your living room? You can pick it up now from Amazon for $89.99.
