Whisper is rolling out the third major update for its AI-powered hearing aid. This update improves on the Sound Separation Engine, providing more contrast between speech and background noise. In other words, the Whisper Hearing System should now make conversations easier to understand in noisy environments.
Unlike other hearing aids, the Whisper Hearing System uses AI to learn your habits and adapt as you move between environments (indoors, outdoors, etc). They cost $180 a month and come with a 3-year loss and damage warranty.
The Sound Separation Engine helps differentiate environmental sounds from speech. It’s one of the hearing aid’s most useful features, and interestingly, it will automatically activate 67% more often following this update.
Previous updates to the Whisper Hearing System expanded its compatibility with Android phones to help people take calls and listen to music. Those who use an iPhone still have the best Whisper experience, though, as the company hasn’t released an Android app.
