Ted Needleman has been writing reviews for several decades and for almost a dozen magazines and web sites including AccountingToday, PCMag, Digital Trends, Investor’s Business Daily, LAPTOP, Computer Buyer’s Guide, and several others, many of which are no longer published. He’s been a Programmer/Analyst on mainframes, Accountant in public practice, Adjunct Lecturer at The City University of NY, the Editor-in-Chief of Accounting Technology magazine, and the Director of an imaging and printing test lab. In his spare time, he’s managed to crank out about 4,000 reviews, columns, and feature articles, as well as two books one of which was the first book published on using PCs in a small accounting firm and the other Accountant’s Guide to the Internet. After several decades of review writing, he’s confident he’s built up enough inertia to keep going at least a few more.
In addition to a life structured around playing with gadgets, software, and computers (and writing all about it) Ted has four grown children, three who have returned home, a wife that puts up with all of them, boxes stacked up in the hall and his home office, and a deaf Bull Terrier named Gracie that the family rescued. He spends whatever spare time he can find listening to music, reading science fiction and action thrillers, magazines about the Maker Movement, and playing around with Raspberry Pi computers and other assorted electronic tidbits. He still has his original Apple //e and Mac 512 in a bin in the basement along with a server rack and about 60TB of NAS storage holding mostly old files and music.
He's currently trying to find the time to learn the Python programming language---not an easy task when you’ve been away from the compiler for a couple of decades.
