Happy Tuesday! Tech accessory maker Aukey and a few others recently found themselves in a bit of hot water with Amazon. The banhammer was dropped and several companies were removed from Amazon’s store when it was discovered that they’ve essentially been bribing people for reviews.
You’ve likely seen the practice in question: you buy something from Amazon, and in the box, there’s a card telling you that the company will give you an Amazon gift card if you leave a review. Some companies specifically ask for a positive review while others use less direct approaches, but either way, Amazon doesn’t allow this practice. And now a bunch of companies are paying the price. Ouch.
