A week and a half ago, Google Chat (RCS Messaging) on Android stopped working on my Pixel 5. It completely broke all text messaging capabilities with other Android users, putting me in a bad spot.
After searching, talking with Google, and even going to my carrier, I couldn’t get it fixed. RCS is supposed to fall back to SMS if it doesn’t work, but that didn’t happen in my case.
